Accepting Individual, Premarital Couples and Married Couples

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over 9 years of experience in the field of mental health. I’ve worked in various settings and roles, with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, facing seemingly insurmountable challenges in their lives. One thing I have learned from this experience is that human beings are resilient, wired for survival and for relationships. Life is filled with struggle. Grappling with heartbreak, betrayal, trauma and loss comes with its expectable pain. Fortunately, it also spurs growth we aren’t capable of acquiring when we get “too comfortable.” Discomfort can get us up off the couch, a much better vantage point to explore the hard truths keeping us “stuck.”  I believe that therapy should provide a safe and supportive environment to unpack our struggles, without the threat of judgment for being human.

I am available to support you individually or as a couple as you explore your values, contemplate what’s working for you, and grow through your unique struggle.

Training:

  • Gottman Method Couple Therapy, Level I,II–Gottman Institute, Seattle, WA
  • Prepare – Enrich Training – For Premarital Couples
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Didactic Training – Sheppard Pratt Health Systems
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Training in Prolonged Exposure – Treatment Implementation
  • Collaborative at Sheppard Pratt Health Systems
  • Critical Incident Stress Management Training – International Critical Incident Stress Foundation
  • Fundamentals of Clinical Hypnosis, Level I – American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, Bloomingdale, IL

Education:

  • Maryland Institute College of Art – Bachelors of Fine Arts (2006)
  • University of Maryland, Baltimore – Masters of Social Work (2011)

My goal as your therapist:

My goal as your therapist is to support you individually or as a couple as you explore your values, contemplate what’s working for you, and grow through your unique struggle. I aim to treat each individual as such, utilizing evidence-based practices to best support your unique goals and help you function in your psychosocial environment.

My Goal as Your Therapist:

Our first step is to explore how you came to be who you are and how you came to the suffering that brings you here. As we do this, we will begin to develop a relationship based on trust and commitment to our collaboration. Using a variety of techniques we examine ways to manage painful emotions, understand how they play out with the people you are closest to and look for new ways to experience your life.
